Grading Categories:
Late and Missing Work Policy:
Absent Work:
- Your grade is divided into 4 categories: Classwork and Homework, Quizzes, Projects and Presentations, and Participation
- Classwork and Homework are worth 25%. All classwork and homework must be glued in your notebook to receive credit. Completed assignments will receive a stamp for full credit if they are turned in on time. I do not give credit on incomplete assignments. If you try your best and complete the assignments, you will receive full credit. Notebook check will be done every two weeks.
- Projects and Presentations are worth 30% of your grade. It includes all unit projects and presentations. Your projects will be graded on completion, accuracy, grammar, spelling, creativity and speaking skills. If your project is colorful/ creative and it makes it to the wall, you will receive extra credit.
- Quizzes are worth 30% of your grade. You will have at least one quiz per week. You may retake any quiz as many times as you like but I will always take the LAST score you earn. You can use quizlet.com to review for quizzes.
- Participation is worth 15% of your grade. You will receive ClassDojo points for showing Tiger Pride in class and for participating. You can earn a different prize for every level you reach. You must earn at least 60 points to receive an A, 45 points to receive a B and 30 points to receive a C, anything lower will result in a D or F.
Late and Missing Work Policy:
- All work must be turned in on time to receive a stamp.
- Work that is turned in incomplete or not turned in will not receive any credit.
- Late work will be accepted until the notebook is collected, every two weeks. Work from previous notebook checks will not be accepted.
- All late work will receive a “C”
- Missing assignments can be picked up from the “Absent” folder near the classroom entrance.
Absent Work:
- If you are absent from class, you are responsible for all work you missed including warm ups, classwork and homework.
- It is your responsibility to pick up any worksheets that were passed out while you were absent from the “Absent” folder.
- Any work that is due when you are absent will receive a score of "0" until it has been turned in after your absence.
- The daily class agenda and homework are posted in our classroom calendar (clip board) and on this website.
- You have the number of days you were absent extra to turn in work. For example, if you miss two days of school, you have two extra days to turn in the work and get them stamped.
